Getting more customers doesn't always mean getting more visitors. Often, the fastest win is converting more of the people who already find you. These ten ideas cost nothing but a little time.
1. Make your offer obvious in five seconds
Ask a friend to look at your home page for five seconds, then tell you what you do and where. If they can't, rewrite your headline. Formula: what you do, for whom or where, and why you. See how to write website copy that sells.
2. Put your main action everywhere
Your most valuable action (book, call, order or get a quote) should be visible at the top of every page and repeated at the end. On mobile, a sticky button or click-to-call works well.
3. Offer the contact method customers prefer
Some people call, some fill in forms, some message. In many countries, a WhatsApp button gets more enquiries than any form. Offer at least two options, and keep forms short.
4. Reply fast
Enquiries go cold within hours. Check your inbox at set times each day, and use a friendly auto-reply that tells people when you'll respond. Speed often beats price.
5. Show prices, or a starting price
"Contact us for prices" sends many visitors to a competitor who shows them. Even "from $49" helps people self-qualify and builds trust.
6. Add social proof near decisions
Place a short testimonial next to your booking button or pricing. Ask happy customers for reviews every week, and feature the best ones. Never invent reviews.
7. Answer the top five questions
List the questions customers ask most (parking, payment, timing, guarantees) and answer them in an FAQ section. Every answered objection removes a reason to leave.
8. Complete your Google Business Profile
For local businesses, many customers decide from your Google profile before they ever visit your site. Add photos, hours, services, your website link and reply to reviews. Our local SEO checklist walks through it.
9. Give a reason to act now
A seasonal offer, limited appointments or a first-visit discount gives hesitant visitors a reason to book today rather than "later" (which often means never). Keep offers genuine.
10. Test one change at a time
Change one thing (a headline, a button label, a price display) and watch enquiries for two weeks. Keep what works. With an AI website builder you can make changes like this in a sentence and roll back if needed.
Bonus: make sure the basics work
Test your own contact form, phone link and booking flow every month. Broken forms silently lose customers.
Put it into practice
OnePrompts builds these principles into every site: clear headlines, calls to action on every page, contact and booking options, reviews and FAQ sections. Create your website free and start converting more visitors this week.
